Meenvallam Waterfalls is one of the major attractions of the Palakkad district. The waterfalls are hidden inside the deep forest from Munnekker Kalladikkode. Meenvallam is the border of the Silent Valley National Park area.

Meenvallam Waterfalls are not the biggest waterfall. Under the Meenvallam a minor Hydroelectric project area is located there. They have a tarred road across the forest. Visitors are walking the road from the entire gate to the waterfall, That time tourists are enjoying the plenty huge trees they offering very cooling and pleasant shades, huge rocks, small ponds including several item fishes, color full butterflies and so beautiful birds that create sweet sounds present an attractive sight.

The entry of the river is restricted as the water level could rise suddenly any time and several people have lost their lives in drowning inside. During the summer there is very little water in the waterfalls.  The place got its name from meen (fish), vallom (is a vessel of bamboo), some hunters are believed to have used the vallom to catch the fish.

Malampuzha Dam

MALAMPUZHA DAM Overview of Malampuzha Dam Malampuzha Dam Malampuzha Dam is the  biggest reservoir in Kerala, located in Palakkad district, in South India, It's surrounded by the scenic hills of the western ghats on all side. Malampuzha Dam is a combination of a masonry dam with a length of 1849 meters and an earthen dam with a height of 220 meters. The dam is 355 feet high and crosses the Malampuzha River, Which a tributary of Bharathapuzha which is Kerala's second-largest  river.  The dam is owned by Irrigation Department. The water released for Irrigation is used for power generation is at 11 kV and water distribution for drinking purposes in the nearby areas while the canal systems are helps. KANJIRAPUZHA DAM OverView of Kanjirapuzha Dam Kanjirapuzha Dam is the major attraction of Mannarkkad. Its located in the bottom of the Vakkodan hills the Palakkad district of Kerala India. This is a masonry earth Dam has a core area of 2400 acres. The Dam includes an irrigation system for drinking water for around the Kanjirapuzha Dam its supply from the canal system.
