Kava Island maybe another beautiful green land attraction of Kerala India. It’s located in just behind the Malampuzha Dam, 13-kilo meters away from the Palakkad town, On the way Palakkad to Kava we passed through a forest, It’s a mind freshness moment. A lot of tourists are coming to Palakkad and visit the Malampuzha Dam but nobody knows where this place is.


This Island is surrounded by mountains in all directions. It's an excellent place to spend more time with family, the evening is the best to visit Kava Island because of the land gives a wonderful sunset. Public transport systems are very limited to getting there. Then drive to Malampuzha road, Take the left to Kava Anakkal road and reach the place, explore the land with good moments

Malampuzha Dam

MALAMPUZHA DAM Overview of Malampuzha Dam Malampuzha Dam Malampuzha Dam is the  biggest reservoir in Kerala, located in Palakkad district, in South India, It's surrounded by the scenic hills of the western ghats on all side. Malampuzha Dam is a combination of a masonry dam with a length of 1849 meters and an earthen dam with a height of 220 meters. The dam is 355 feet high and crosses the Malampuzha River, Which a tributary of Bharathapuzha which is Kerala's second-largest  river.  The dam is owned by Irrigation Department. The water released for Irrigation is used for power generation is at 11 kV and water distribution for drinking purposes in the nearby areas while the canal systems are helps. The Malampuzha project was started on 27 March 1949 by the Public Works Minister, Sri M, Bhaktavatsalam. During the time of its initiation  and on 9 0ct 1955 the Tamilnadu Chief Minister, Sri. KANJIRAPUZHA DAM OverView of Kanjirapuzha Dam Kanjirapuzha Dam is the major attraction of Mannarkkad. Its located in the bottom of the Vakkodan hills the Palakkad district of Kerala India. This is a masonry earth Dam has a core area of 2400 acres. The Dam includes an irrigation system for drinking water for around the Kanjirapuzha Dam its supply from the canal system. Kanjirapuzha River is the main part of filling the reservoir. The Kanjiirapuzha River is a tributary of Thuthapuzha River and they joined the Bharathapuzha a part of the west-flowing river.
